Memanbetsu Airport is located on Hokkaidō Island, near the National Shiretoko Park. The airport services over 1 million passengers every year. Memanbetsu was opened in 1985 and replaced the old airport located within the city. The airport has one air-strip and services passengers in one terminal. It serves domestic and international flights. At the airport, there are benefits to international charters, which makes it attractive to tourists.

From Memanbetsu Airport, you can travel to different towns and cities by public buses: Abashiri (platform #2), Kitami (platform #2), Shiretoko (platform #3), Bihoro (platform #4). The bus stop is located at the roadside at the exit from the terminal. At the exit from the terminal, you can also take a taxi. At the airport, you can book a taxi or a limo in advance.

Rental offices, how to find them, where to return car

Car rental points are located at the first level of the terminal, opposite the exit from the baggage claim area. Companies’ stands are located between the stairs to the second level and the exit from the terminal. To get to car rental points, you need to go out of the baggage claim area and go through the hall to the central entrance to the terminal. There, you will find car rental points. At the airport, there are several famous car rental companies: Toyota rent a car, Nissan rent a car, Times car rental, Nippon, Orix rent-a-car.

Their offices are open from 8 am to 7-8 pm. Cars are taken and returned to the parking lot near the terminal. Companies that provide cars outside the terminal offer a free transfer to the place where the client can get a car. If the time of arrival does not match the working hours of the company office, the client can get the car on time if the client has booked it in advance.

There is an outdoor parking area for 760 places (two lots) near the passenger terminal. Parking is free here if it does not exceed 1 hour. Parking tariffs depend on the time and size of the vehicle.

Nearby hotels are located 7-9 km from Memanbetsu Airport: Northern Lodge Kanto, Guest house Yumebatake, Ryckan Yumoto hotel Sansui, Okhotsk Jinendo. Further along, there are such hotels, as Higashimokoto and Minshuku Fukurou.
