It is erected in memory of those whose permanent residence became the sea after their death. You will find the structure near the marine base. Pompey’s Pillar telling about the ancient times, rises like a warning tower of the city, which gives a signal to Serapéion. In his turn, Serapéion will defend the city when it is needed. The monument was built on the site of the Serapeum of Alexandria which was destroyed at the end of the 4th century.
