It is hard to imagine, but the population of the town grew sixfold during the first ten years after the discovery of the mines. Representatives of large mining companies from all over the world rushed here to start building of beautiful high-rise buildings. Over the past hundred years, Perth's mining industry has reached incredible heights. It is one of the world's largest nickel and gold extraction centers and the second most important diamond mining center on the planet.
Despite the important industrial status of the present city, it is interesting not only from a business point of view. Perth is famous for its unique nature - in the immediate vicinity of the city, there are unique park areas full of centuries-old "curry" trees. A local landmark of world significance is the Nambung National Park whose territory is covered with the unique Pinnacles Petrified Forrest. Scientists have been trying to unravel the secret of its origin for many decades, but the Perth's petrified forest remains one of the main mysteries of the planet.
