The city is always full of harmony and peace. It seems that nothing can make the local people to rush out and dive into that crazy rhythm of life which is so typical for many Europeans. Local people are good friends and business partners. They are always very serious when it comes to fulfilling their obligations. Many visitors are even surprised by the fact how the locals are able not only to keep their work related activities in excellent order, but also devote much time to sports and other hobbies with that an unhurried way of life.
New Year is one of the most favorite holidays of the local residents. New Year's celebrations last around 12 days. The holidays start on December 25 – the Christmas Eve. After that the night of December 31 is celebrated as New Year, and then, on January 6, the locals celebrate the day of the Magi. The latter holiday is sometimes called the Day of the Three Kings. In the morning of the celebration three kings dressed in luxurious clothes step off a ship. Their servants load big bags full of gifts into wagons. The procession crosses all main streets of the city. Attractive holiday wagons are always welcomed by the locals, and servants of the so called "kings" treat the townspeople with sweets. This is the way the locals celebrate that solemn day when the Three Wise Men brought to people the glad news about the birth of Jesus Christ and came to the newborn with lavish gifts.
