You can pay for purchases and services in euros only; any other currency won’t be accepted here. Money can be exchanged at any of the local bank; they usually serve clients from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.
Mains voltage is 220 V; all hotels have European-style sockets. Adapters for electrical devices are available upon request in large hotels.
Those who don’t speak French perfectly should definitely take a phrasebook with them, otherwise it won’t be easy to find a common language with natives. Locals learn foreign languages, but it is simply not accepted to communicate in other languages.
Going to one of the gastronomic establishments, it’s worth remembering that tipping is required. The tip is usually about 12-15% of the account; in large restaurants service charge may be included in the total.
