Location : The airport is located 18km (11 miles) south of Izmir.
Information and Customer Care Desks
There are two information desks available within the international terminal, one in the departures check-in hall and the other in the arrivals hall. There is also a tourist information desk in the arrivals hall (tel: (232) 274 2214).
Available Facilities and Services
Money and communications: An ATM is available on the arrivals floor, while bureau de change services are available both on the arrivals and departures floors. There is also a post office on the arrivals floor.
Eating and drinking: A restaurant is located on the mezzanine floor in the international departures hall. Burger King has two outlets at the airport, one on the mezzanine floor in the international departures hall and the other in the food court area past the passport control point. A café offers beverages, pastries, and sandwiches at the departure level of the international terminal, while another offers over 90 different varieties of coffees and cakes both at the international departures level and the international arrival level. A bar serves light snacks, salads and a rich choice of beverages. In addition, there are also several smaller kiosks selling beverages, aperitifs, snacks and sandwiches near the gates. Snacks, alcoholic drinks and beverages, fresh fruits and sandwiches, are also offered in the Millennium Lounge for first and business class travellers.
Shopping: There are plenty of shops at the airport, including several duty-free shops, fashion shops, a shop selling a variety of luxury items, a grocer, a jeweller, a souvenir shop and a florist.
Luggage: The lost and found office (tel: (232) 274 6464, ext. 4382) is located on the arrivals floor.
Other facilities: A hairdresser (tel: (232) 274 6441) for both men and women operates at the airport.
Car Parking Info
There are over 2,300 parking spaces at the multistorey car park of the new terminal. The car park is just in front of the terminal and short- and long-term parking lots are available. Monthly membership cards are available.
Driving by car from/to izmir
Finding the city from the airport or vice versa is easy. From the city, head south on the E-87 and follow signs to the airport. From the airport, take the E-87 towards the north and follow signs to the city centre. The main road is called Akcay Road.
Public Transportation from/to izmir
Taxi: Taxi ranks are located in front of the airport terminal building, and there are always taxis available during the airport’s operating hours. Transfer from the airport or a hotel can be booked in advance (tel: (232) 274 6646). Many hotels will help arrange a private transfer to the airport. Bus: Bus company Havas (tel: (232) 444 0487) operates buses to and from the airport, with a journey time of around 50 minutes. Buses from the city centre to the airport run every hour, and there are frequent shuttle bus departures from the airport to the city correspond with incoming domestic flights. Travellers arriving on non-domestic flights will in the majority of cases get a ride with these buses, but not if all seats are taken by domestic travellers. Hence, the metro will for many be a better alternative.
Train: It is possible to travel between the airport and the city by overland train, but services are infrequent (five or six departures each way per day). Journey time is around 30 minutes.
