Before the Second World War started, a lot of Jewish used to live in Kaunas. You'll have an opportunity to see with your own eye the old ghetto – Slobodka. There the Nazis kept the Jewish before putting them to death. Kaunas is full of young people. And it's no surprise: the largest number of universities is located in this city. It has Vytautas Magnus University, Sport and Physical Education University, University of Technology of Kaunas, University of Medicine, Agriculture and economy Academy, Veterinary Academy and it's just a part of the list. Every year thousands of students come to Kaunas to get knowledge in various spheres of science.
But your trip to Kaunas won't be full without visiting the Zoo (by the way, it's the only zoo in Lithuania). In the numerous green zones you can have some rest after the everlasting hustle of the city. Kaunas Botanic Garden is also a splendid place for having a quiet walk and making some photos.
