In an 80-kilometer distance from Vilnius takes place the marvelous city – Kaunas. It's the most important city in Lithuania, after the capital of course. The natives consider Kaunas to be the best city to feel the Lithuanian spirit.
The main attraction in Kaunas is surely the city center. It is surrounded by the Neris River from one side and by the Nemunas River from the other. The city center is famous for its old buildings, the most noticeable of which is the City Hall. At the square nearby (the City Hall Square) you may find a lot of local shop. Some of them date back to the 16th century. But still the pearl of the square is the City Hall.
