More Luxury Hotels to Appear in Montenegro

Montenegro is a beautiful country, but it is not yet discovered by many travellers because of one fact – it doesn’t have well-developed travel infrastructure. However, the situation will change in future as the building of several projects like “Boka Bay” has been confirmed.

The aim of the project is to create a real top class resort on the 24 hectare large area. The area will include a five star hotel, a manmade marina with over 250 berths, apartment houses, luxury villas, numerous restaurants, a large spa center (over 3000 sq. m.), and over 70 retail stores and boutiques. It is already known that the project has approximately 200 subcontractors. It has been reported that one hotel with 110 guestrooms will be operated by the US American Kerzer International Holdings and will work under the One & Only hotel brand.

Another project is called Porto Montenegro. This project has gathered many investors from different countries, such as Canada and Russia. Located in the bay of Kotor, the project will include many deep water harbours for yachts. Currently, there is steady demand for berths in the region, so it was decided to increase the original number of berths from 250 to 500. When the final stage of the project is completed, it will be able to provide space for 650 yachts with the length of up to 150 meter. The project will include a five star hotel and a building with resident apartments. The infrastructure will also include numerous shops and restaurants. The hotel will start operating in summer 2014, and resident apartments will be completed in summer 2015.

Finally, Lustica Development is the largest development project. It will be located on the area of 690 hectare. Mostly sponsored by Egyptian Orascom Development, this project implies redesign of the peninsula Lustica. Formerly a military base, this place may become one of main tourist destinations in Montenegro. This project will feature seven top notch hotels, two marinas, over 500 town houses, and approximately 1000 resident apartments. The construction has already started and it is going to last until 2028.
