A famous European hotelier, Rezidor Hotel Group, has just announced its plans about the entering of Qatar market by investing $18 million into Ramada Plaza hotel in Doha.
The hotelier, which headquarters are located in Brussels, has revealed its plans concerning converting the 583-key Ramada Plaza Doha into Radisson Blu. This will be done during the first quarter of 2012. Currently Rezidor pays much attention to its luxurious Radisson Blu brand – the number of hotels that already operate or are under development estimate 40.
As it has already been mentioned, this will be the company’s debut on the hotel market of Qatar. Rezidor plans to expand its presence in the region and wants to get the most from the growth of tourism in the Gulf countries geared up by the FIFA World Cup 2022. The company plans to spend more money for investments within the next decade. The company promises to open approximately 5 hotels in the Middle East each year. When asked about the type of accommodations they prefer, Kurt Ritter, the company’s CEO, mentioned keeping an eye on already existing properties rather than building new ones. The company’s latest actions only prove these words. Among the newest additions to the Rezidor’s portfolio are the 257-key JAL Hotel and Spa in Fujairah and the 471-key JAL hotel in Dubai.
