The legendary Death Valley is one of the outstanding natural attractions of the United States. It’s situated in the Mojave Desert. Local temperature record recorded here in 1913 was 56.7°C. Surprisingly, Death Valley features various inhabitants. Here you can find not only numerous types of insects and lizards, as the desert is home to foxes and bobcats, rodents and bugs. Many curious tourists are eager to get to the valley in the rainy season. Even a minimal amount of precipitation is able to breathe life into seeds sleeping in the desert soil for years. After the rain grass and flowers appear in some areas of the valley.
Unlike other desert regions of the planet, Death Valley features exact seasons. Thus, in height of summer the average temperature is 46°C, and in winter it rarely exceeds 20°C. There are occasional short frosts, accompanied by snowfall. The territory of the amazing valley features many highways; many tourists prefer exploring the desert area on a bicycle.
In addition to natural attractions, tourists are offered to visit Furniss Creek that has being inhabited by Timbisha tribe for more than thousand years. The main mystery of Death Valley are moving stones. Huge boulders weighing up to 500 pounds are moving through the desert, leaving a visible trace of movement. Stones have being observed for a long time, but researchers failed to fix them at the moment of motion.
