Driving Advices for Italy – Traffic Regulations and Road Usage Peculiarities
Previous hints
Despite the fact that local drivers are quite temperamental and sometimes very impatient, there are no rude people on the roads of Italy. It is not common to shout out of the windows and express own displeasure in an aggressive form. Local drivers will surely not tolerate such a behavior from foreigners.
Anti-fog lights can be turned on only when the visibility on the road is less than 50 meters. Otherwise, you can be issued rather a big fine.
Even if you increase speed on those parts of roads that are not equipped with cameras, your violation is not likely to be unnoticed. The majority of roads are equipped with Tutor radars that fix the time, during which cars move from one camera to another. Therefore, calculating their average speed is not difficult.

In the city you can see many interesting architectural structures; one of the most beautiful is the Royal Palace. It was built in the first half of the 14th century. For more than 500 years, this chic palace remained a royal residence. At the end of the 19th century, the building was fully reconstructed, after which it housed the city administration. In the palace there are regular excursions, during which it is possible to evaluate the preserved elements of its antique decoration. Also, this historical building is used for musical concerts.
An equally interesting historical monument is the Archbishop's Palace. The exact date of its construction is unknown, however, the first mention of the palace dates back to the beginning of the 14th century. If you believe some historical evidence, the building was built much earlier. In the middle of the 13th century, it was known as the Judge's House. Now the palace is a unique museum containing many ancient works of art, as well as archaeological finds. The decoration of some rooms is of great historical value.

There are many ancient churches in Cagliari. The basilica of Saint Saturnin is a very interesting attraction. The very first Christian church was built in its place in the 6th century. For hundreds of years it was repeatedly destroyed and rebuilt. Initially, the temple was named after the patron saint of the city. In 1943 the basilica was almost completely destroyed during the hostilities. In the shortest possible time, it was completely restored. Now the basilica is one of the most popular places of marriages for the citizens.
