They Had lived in harmony for many centuries by that time and did not wish to introduce so great changes in their lives as, for example, to move to some other territory. That harmony of cultures was not only comfortable for their representatives but also rather productive. The School of Translators of Toledo appeared to be one of positive and socially useful results of this communion of cultures.

In 1561 it was decided to move the Court to Madrid that inevitably lead to some decline but it didn't produce any effect on religion, culture and art. It was just the time of El Greco living and working in the city. In 1989 Toledo was declared a cultural heritage due to its being unique. Among a vast number of really valuable masterpieces we can name a Gothic or Mudejar church, a Romanesque or Visigothic structure, a synagogue and a Renaissance palace.
