First fortifications in its place have appeared in the 12th century; during the Middle Ages, it was completely rebuilt. The only element of the first castle preserved to the present day is the Mirabella Tower. This amazing historic building is home to the Astronomical Observatory, Museum of the Risorgimento and the Museum of Ancient Weapons.
