Start your acquaintance with Paramaribo from the central square, which is called Independence Square. Around the square are located several notable buildings - the Presidential Palace, the Houses of Parliament and several governmental buildings. Ancient fountains built in the 13th century are considered the main symbol of the city. One of them is called Amsterdam, and the second one - Zealand. Even the symbol of the city emphasizes the surprising combination of different cultures.
After your acquaintance with the historical heritage of the city, it is time to go to the Vaterkrants Boulevard, which is the location of the largest market and several shopping centers. The construction of new hotels and restaurants never stops in this city, so you can easily find nice places to relax in any part of Paramaribo. New movie theaters, cafes and bars, as well as entertainment centers and playgrounds are always open for visitors.
