This settlement was founded more than a thousand years ago. Just like many years ago, visitors can still see traditional houses of local people built on pillars. There are also authentic old schools and mosques in Kampong Ayer. Many old houses were transformed into interesting shops, restaurants featuring national cuisine, and souvenir shops. The old village has one more peculiarity – its population is incredibly friendly and hospitable, so tourists will always feel comfortable here.
