Denver International Airport is located 40 km from the city centre. It is the biggest air terminal of the USA and is among the three largest airports in terms of land area. The airport disposes of the longest runway in the country. The airport features 6 runways in total. Passengers are handled in the main terminal (Jeppesen) which has 3 concourses. The airport was put into operation in 1995. It is one of the most high-capacity airports, as its annual passenger traffic exceeded 60 million people long ago.

Jeppesen Terminal is divided into the West and East sides. Leaving the main terminal, passengers can access the gates on 3 separate concourses which are A, B, and C. The concourses are connected by pedestrian bridges and equipped with travelators.

The airport has access to Interstate 70 highway and E-470 tollway. Suburban electric trains run from Denver (from Denver Union Station) in the direction of the airport. You can also get to Denver by several bus routes and express bus. In addition, there are taxi and limousine services as well as charter buses.

Rental offices, how to find them, where to return car

Several vehicle hire companies provide their services at DEN. These are Budget, Dollar Rent A Car, Enterprise, EZ Rent-A-Car, National rent a car, Payless, Thrifty, Advantage, Alamo, Avis, Fox, and Hertz. All the agencies that have offices in the airport terminal offer free shuttles to and from Jeppesen Terminal. Shuttle buses depart from the fifth level (zone 4), Gates 505-513 on the east side and Gates 504-512 on the west side. The rental car collection points are outside the terminal, and are found along Peña Boulevard.

The rental conditions include age restriction. Thus, the rental cost is higher for the drivers aged between 21 and 24 years old. The companies imposes restrictions on renting certain types of vehicles for such young drivers (SUVs and luxury cars are not available for them).

So as to conclude a rental agreement, you will be required to present your driver's license and your passport or your identity card with a photo. You will also need to produce a printed voucher if there was an advance reservation.

Long-term and short-term parking, hotels nearby

Parking garages and economy parking lots are placed next to Jeppesen Terminal (on the east and west sides). Shared parking spaces are situated on the 1-3 floors of the main terminal. Short-term and long-term parking spaces are positioned on the 4th floor. On the 5th floor, passengers are picked up by taxis and shuttles, going to the car rental centre or to remote parking lots. Valet-parking services are accessible (level 4 of the East and West parking garages). No advance reservations are required, because current information on the availability of parking spaces is displayed on the placard on the way to the parking garages.

The Westin Hotel at Denver International Airport has easy connection to the city. The railway is adjacent to the hotel. The train station is placed below the hotel, near Jeppesen Terminal. The Hyatt House, the Red Lion Inn & Suites, the Best Western Plus, the Holiday Inn Express & Suites, and the Embassy Suites are only a few minutes away from the terminals and offer a free shuttle service to both directions to their guests.
