Toledo, Spain: SUV and Offroad Rental Tips
The most popular SUV models offered at rental locations in Toledo are: BMW X3, Toyota Rav4, Kia Sportage, Toyota Landcruiser, BMW X5, Hyundai Santa Fe and others.

While selecting your preferred model of an off-road vehicle, please examine the rental conditions. In particular, those requirements that concern credit cards – when it comes to renting an expensive car, sometimes offices in Spain ask information about two credit cards.

Before signing the contract in the rental office upon arrival, check that the invoice figures match with figures in your voucher.

Once the vehicle is assigned, inspect it carefully before leaving the parking. Crossovers and SUVs are often used in tough road conditions, therefore scratches and other exteriour defects are inevitable. Due to this, it is important to check and specify all existing defects in your rental documents.

If you plan to use an off-road vehicle in the mountains, it is recommended to order snow chains. This will save you from unexpected incidents. Other important equipment in Spain are mandatory child seats for travellers with children. OrangeSmile.com wishes you a safe trip and green lights on the roads of Toledo!

Driving Advices for Spain – Traffic Regulations and Road Usage Peculiarities
Previous hints
When moving, cars can be overtaken on the left only. Any attempt to overtake a car on the right is a violation of traffic regulations. Any maneuver on the road can only be accompanied by an appropriate light signal.
Local drivers are rather impatient and, so they often express their dissatisfaction with the signals. Foreign visitors are not recommended to follow their example. The reason for this is the fact that the use of a car honk is prohibited.
Spanish drivers often disregard the speed limit. However, the speeding of just 20 km/h can result in a fine of 100 euro, so it is better not to risk and not to exceed the designated speed limit.

Enjoying SUV and sightseeing of Toledo
One of the main landmarks of Toledo is the fascinating Alcazar fortress, which has been built in the mid15th century and has witnessed a huge number of battles. During its long history, the fortress was restored and rebuilt several times; during the siege of 1936 it was destroyed completely. Contemporaries managed to restore the historic building. Today the fortress looks exactly the same as during the reign of Charles V. Tourists are invited to stroll through spacious corridors and halls of the castle, as well as to look at dungeons that have managed to survive to the present day. They have served as the main sanctuary for townspeople since medieval times.
An interesting tour sight is Hospital de San Juan Bautista. The building is interesting, first of all, from an architectural point of view, because it is the true embodiment of the Spanish Renaissance. Construction of the hospital began in 1541 and lasted for more than sixty years. Nowadays the part of the historic building hosts the famous Museo Duque de Lerma. Its collection is very extensive and striking in its luxury; among exhibits there are priceless works of art, weapons and ornaments, as well as an authentic 16th-century pharmacy.

It’s also worth to visit Castillo de San Servando. Many exciting stories and legends are associated with this 14th-century fortress. The last reconstruction of the castle took place in the middle of the last century. Now it is a regular venue for important business events. The most important religious landmark of the city is the Cathedral of Saint Mary striking with its skillful decoration.
