Beautiful San Juan de Los Reyes monastery is considered one of the most spectacular architectural monuments in the city. It was built in the 15th century and is an example of a rare Isabelino style. The monastery is decorated with numerous carved towers and large windows of elongated shape. The tiled roof gives the building a special charm. From the moment of its foundation to the present time, this is a functioning monastery. Nowadays, it is located on the territory of a picturesque landscape garden.
The most beautiful monument of pristine architecture is the synagogue of Santa Maria la Blanca, built for the urban Jewish community in the 11th century. The very first building was completely destroyed by fire in the 13th century. Later it was rebuilt in accordance with the original. For hundreds of years of existence, beautiful carved columns, stucco work, tiled floor, massive wooden doors, and other design elements have been preserved in the synagogue.
Just outside of the city, the most popular viewing platform called Mirador del Valle is located. It is situated near the ringway that encircles the city. The platform offers a wonderful view of the river, the valley, and the historic quarter of Toledo.
