A really curious sight is Karavan-Sarai Kurshumli Khan hotel, which is known far beyond city limits. It was built in the 15th century and initially served as an inn for merchants. The unique historical hotel building managed to survive to this day, although it repeatedly changed its status over the years of its existence. At the end of the 19th century, it housed a prison where they kept Bulgarian revolutionaries. During the First World War, the building was in a state of neglect. Now, the wonderful hotel was reopened there again. You can admire ancient fountains and sculptures in the courtyard.
The Ristik Palace is a unique architectural building at the Macedonia square. It was built in 1926 and bears the name of its first owner, Vladislav Ristic, a famous pharmacist. The Ristik family owned this luxurious palace. His personal study was located on the ground floor. Nowadays, the historical building houses some nice shops.
In the vicinity of Skopje, many excellent natural attractions are found. Doirano Lake is one of them. The beautiful lake is one of the largest in Macedonia. It is rich with fish. There are even fairly rare species. The shores of the lake are covered with dense green vegetation. You'll see many rare plants and trees there and watch the birds. The picturesque places have long become home for them.
