Searching for open roof cars

Preset configuration of the white form above - search for an exotic car or a cabriolet at 'Tours - Airport'. Address: Aeroport De Tours Val De Loire, Tours, F-37000, France.

In Tours, we provide vehicles at 6 different rental locations. Cars with a folding roof are rather of a rare type, so they are mostly offered in airports and railway stations.

We advise booking a cabriolet in France in advance (several weeks or even several months prior to your trip), since the availability of convertibles in our car park is quite limited.

Tours, France: cabriolet rental hints
The most widespread cabriolet models offered for rent in France are: BMW 3 series Cabriolet, Peugeot 206 Cabriolet, Renault Megane Cabriolet, Audi A3 Convertible, Audi A4 Convertible and BMW Z4 Roadster.

At the booking time, please check the rental conditions carefully. Quite often, rental offices in Tours require two credit cards to guarantee issuance of a cabrio or a roadster.

We recommend ordering additional no-excess insurance that covers your risk (franchise), since the franchise amount for cabriolets in France is quite high.

Make sure to inspect the rental invoice issued at the office in Tours and compare it with the information indicated in your voucher. Sometimes, rental officers make 'unintentional' mistakes in rental invoices.

In parking garage, examine the vehicle for defects and scratches carefully. If you find any of them, check whether they have been specified in your rental document.

When parking a cabriolet in Tours, it is recommended to unfold the roof and close windows in order to prevent theft or robbery.

OrangeSmile.com wishes you an exciting journey with an open roof around France!

Driving Advices for France – Traffic Regulations and Road Usage Peculiarities
Previous hints
Drivers are recommended to use special winter tires on some mountain road sections in cold weather. These road sections have a special mark – “Pneus Neige”. Winter tires can be used starting from the last Saturday before November 11 and up to the last Sunday of March.
If a roundabout crossing has the “Cédez Le Passage” sign or the “Vous n'avez pas la priorité” sign, then vehicles that move along the circle have the priority. If there are no signs, the priority is given to the vehicles that are about to enter the crossing.
It’s very easy to determine the type of a road in France. There is always a corresponding letter next to the number of each of them: “A” is for highways, “N” means national roads, “D” is for departmental roads, and “C” is for utility roads. The latter have a speed limit of 30 km/h.

Enjoying sights of Tours in cabriolet
The beautiful abbey of Marmieu was founded in the 4th century. St. Martin of Tours was its founder. Locals consider him the patron saint of winemaking. The ancient abbey is an outstanding religious monument for them. The old monastery was badly damaged in the 9th century during the invasion of the Normans. However, it was completely restored. Already in the 11th century, it was considered one of the richest monasteries in Europe. The complex has been partially preserved up to now and includes several old buildings, towers, and part of the fortress wall. Nearby, is the park of St. Radegonde, the most fabulous in the city.
The Museum of Fine Arts is a popular tourist object. It occupies a beautiful Episcopal Palace. The museum contains a rich collection of works by famous European painters and will be interesting to amateurs of Delacroix, Rubens, Degas, and Rembrandt. The opening of the museum in the palace took place in 1910. Previously it used to be a school, a warehouse, and a theater.

Some beautiful castles survived in and around the city. Plessis-les-Tours is the most gorgeous and interesting one. This castle was built as a residence of King Louis XI. After the Great French Revolution, it has been privately owned for many years. One of its former owners dismantled the construction almost completely, but many nice rooms still survived. There is a room where Louis XI spent the last minutes of his life. Yet, visitors can see the old royal prison. The historic building is surrounded by a picturesque garden. In recent years, the castle is often used for theater performances and festivals.
