The Golden Gate Bridge passing over the strait of the same name may be added to the category of outstanding architectural structures. The opening of the bridge took place in 1937; until 1964 it remained the largest suspension bridge in the world with a length of 1970 meters. The current bridge is accessible not only to drivers, as there are special lanes for pedestrians.
The town of Beverly Hills is an important tourist attraction, as it is considered one of the most magnificent cities in the world. All visitors can stroll through the picturesque streets and admire elegant mansions, look into high-end shops and welcoming restaurants. In the northern part of California there is an important historical site, Fort Ross. The wooden fortress was built in the early 19th century and was home to the Russian settlement. The only building has survived to the present day in an unchanged form; it is the Rotchev House or Commandant’s House. All other facilities were rebuilt by architects.
