Interlaken is simply made for relaxation. This wonderful city attracts tourists all year round. The best way to get acquainted with its sights is to make a walk along its streets. You can see beautiful buildings, parks and historic sites right at every step. The area near Kursaal Centre is the best place for walking. The center houses a famous casino and a popular concert hall. This is the place where various interesting cultural events, including concerts and theater performances, shows and folklore evenings take place. There is a large park right in the center of Interlaken. The park hosts one of the most important sights of the city ¬¬¬¬¬¬- the ruins of old Augustinian monastery. It was founded in the first half of the 12th century and worked up to the period of Reformation. After that the monastery was abandoned for a long time. Unfortunately, only a part of the magnificent building has survived till our days. Tourist Museum is also an interesting cultural institution. It offers an exhibition that shows the development of tourism sector of the country.
