The project was so complicated that the treasury of the city simply had no enough funds to implement it. Therefore, the architect had to change the project quickly. The result of his hard work now can be seen on the embankment of the Tepla River. A visit to Brechov fortress is an obligatory part of any excursion program. Loket Castle is an important architectural monument of the Middle Ages. Nowadays it has been turned into a museum, where visitors can see a rich collection of porcelain. Several centuries ago the castle was the main hunting residence of the Luxembourg kings. The modern setting of its premises is almost similar to the one that was there in the 19th century. The Church of Peter and Paul is one of the main religious sites of the city. The beautiful church was built in late 19th century and is a replica of classic Byzantine structures. The main relics of the church are ancient icons. These icons were a present of Russian Emperor Nicholas II.
