During its long history the building was reconstructed many times and so it has completely changed its look. The only element that has remained from the original cathedral is a bell tower built in 1520. The facade of the building, which visitors can see today, is made in accordance with best traditions of Baroque style. Starting from 1974 Notre Dame Cathedral has become the residence of bishop.
