A large part of shops and public institutions starts working at 9 am and serves customers up to 5 - 6 pm. Friday is a short working day, and the majority of offices and shopping centers are closed on Saturday and Sunday.
Tourists can pay by bank transfer in major shopping centers and restaurants. Mastercard and Visa credit cards are accepted almost everywhere. Cash will be useful only to travellers who expect to go to markets and small restaurants.
It’s better to stock up with the national currency for shopping because foreign currency is not accepted everywhere or accepted at a disadvantageous exchange rate. Money is better to be exchanged in banks as they usually offer the most favorable rates. Travellers can easily withdraw money from their plastic cards in one of numerous ATMs. It should be noted that this is a paid service, and some ATMs charge up to 15% of the withdrawal amount.
Travelers should not drink tap water. Despite the fact that it is thoroughly cleaned and, therefore, is not dangerous to health, tap water can significantly worsen the process of acclimatization.
