New Delhi city guide: sightseeings and touristic places

New Delhi city - places to visit in New Delhi Nowadays everybody, coming to Delhi faces with the confrontation of the old style and new ideas. One of the most vivid examples is the Main Bazaar. Thee you can be offered a good accommodation, entertainment facilities, all necessary conveniences and posh clubs, but at the same time there are lots of poor people in the streets and always rushing rickshaws.

Old Delhi has the history of more than 2500 years and has always played an important strategic and military role. For centuries it served as the center of the Mughal Empire. The two main places in the city were the Chandni Chowk Bazaar and the Jama Masijid (which, by the way, even now remains the biggest mosque in the country). At first sight Old Delhi can seem to be very noisy and anxious, but if to turn down to the ant-hill of the narrow streets and leave beside the ever rushing rickshaws and hurrying people, you'll find yourself in a quiet and calm place with fantastic views on the city. The Old Red Fort is really worth visiting. Situated on the hill with an air of importance it watches over the city. Its beautiful minarets can be well seen from many places downwards. Unfortunately, time damaged it a lot, but the special spirit of history will never be destroyed. So you can have a walk along its ruins and think about past, future and present days.

If to go to the south of the city, you'll have a n opportunity to look at the Qutub Minar complex and the tomb of Humayun. It's curious that this tomb is considered to be the prototype of the world-famous Taj Mahal. To see all the places of interest of the city, you'll need four days, to understand it – the whole life...

The most common way of coming to Delhi is by plane, so it's not surprising that Delhi Airport is always crowded with people. But keep in mind that it'll still take you some time to get to the Main Bazaar, which can offer the best choice of hotels. As a rule, it's not a great problem to get to or from the airport by car, but it'll be reasonable to make sure that there are no traffic jams, which are such a common thing in the afternoon. Delhi has a good connection with the main towns of the country, which makes excursions to the other cities rather convenient. Traveling by trains is very popular in India. There are even special offices for people from other countries to prevent any confusion. The Indian service workers are well-mannered, patient and easy-going people that are always ready to help you to make the right choice.
