IHG (InterContinental Group) that is also known as one of the biggest hotel companies in the world has announced debut of its Hotel Indigo brand in the country of Finland. The first hotel under this brand in the country will be located in its historical part and will be named Hotel Indigo Helsinki Boulevard.
The 120-guestroom hotel will start operating in 2015. This will be a converted hotel opened in accordance with a franchise agreement with International Restel Hotels Ltd. Both the companies are already business partners as all IHG hotels in Finland (8 in total) are operated by this company.
The new hotel is located in Kamppi / Punavuori districts. This part of Helsinki is famous for its 19th century architecture. It is also home to numerous popular restaurants and art galleries. The hotelier tells that design of Hotel Indigo Helsinki Boulevard will reflect the atmosphere of the districts, and both its character and history will be seen in the hotel’s details.
Currently Helsinki is known as an emerging tourist destination, but this is also the business capital of Northern European countries. Last year, Helsinki was also chosen World Design Capital.
Hotel Indigo is a boutique hotel brand with free Wi-Fi, large fitness facilities and amazing restaurants and bars. Other hotels by IHG that already work are Holiday Inn Helsinki - West Ruoholahti, Holiday Inn Helsinki -Vantaa Airport, Crowne Plaza Helsinki, Holiday Inn Helsinki City Centre, and Holiday Inn Helsinki Exhibition & Convention Centre.
