London-headquartered company Laura Ashley, which specializes in fashion and home decoration, has announced its plans concerning the launch of the first hotel by its brand. This will be the first attempt of the famous brand to step in to hotel market. For this purpose the company has purchased a hotel in Hertfordshire country, the UK, which soon is to be refurbished and rebranded. No exact location of the hotel is revealed at the moment. The sum of the deal estimated £5.8 million (US$9.2 million).
Laura Ashley, which is now controlled by the Malaysian organization Malayan United Industries, Kuala Lumpur, plans to use its first hotel not only to offer guestrooms and high quality service to visitors, but also to showcase the products produced by the brand. The sum of the investment into the hotel refurbishment is not disclosed, but Laura Ashley promises that the 49 guestrooms of the hotel will be truly something special.
