Mumbai-based hotelier Hotel Leelaventure ltd. will open a hotel brand especially for pilgrims. Leela Gardens will be targeted to midscale visitors who attend famous religious places of India. The first property by this brand is scheduled for opening until 2013. The hotelier plans to increase the number of Leela Gardens hotels in India up to 20-30 accommodations. At the moment the company’s primary targets are hotels in Rishikesh, Banaras, Mysore, Nalanda, and Haridwar.
No additional information about this brand is available. Leeladvanture is also not sure about its strategy and ownership status of the properties under the Leela Garden brand. Most probably the majority of hotels will be opened under the asset-light strategy.
The branch of the company working with Leela Garden brand will be headed by Samyukta Nair, the granddaughter of the company’s president and founder – 90-year-old Krishnan Nair.
