Palm Holdings, a London based hotelier, has recently bought 2 upscale boutique-hotels in Edinburgh. The company will brand them together with the other 2 hotels of the same segment that are already owned by this hotelier.
The previous owner of the 2 hotels in Edinburgh, Town House Co, doesn’t disclose the sum of the deal. Channings and The Howard are known as most prominent hotels of the region. Palm Holdings plans to provide the complete renovation of the properties in order to bring back their former glory.
Other hotels in Scotland owned by Palm Holdings are the 41-key Holyrood ApartHotel and the 85-key Old Waverly Hotel. When the newly bought hotels will be completely renovated and all four 4 hotels will start operating, Palm Holdings plans to connect them in a chain under the same brand – the Edinburg Collection.
The previous owner of the 2 properties, Town House, is controlled by Peter Taylor who is also known as one of the most eccentric hoteliers in the UK. He opened Blythswood Square hotel in Glasgow last year and decided to focus on it. This caused the deal with Palm Holdings.
