The Skagit Valley, USA

No less beautiful and inviting place is the Skagit Valley. For many years, tulips have grown there. A colorful field of tulips attracted a tremendous amount of tourists, who can admire the fantastically beautiful flower carpets in mid-April. The Skagit Valley is the largest flower farm in the United States. It was founded more than a hundred years ago. In the middle of 20th century, the farm existence was threatened, as the vast valley has to be used for the construction of a nuclear power plant.

By a happy coincidence, these plans did not come true, so the first-class flower farm still exists today. In 1984, a flower festival was held there. Now, it is held for already more than 30 years as an annual event. In April, florists and travelers from around the world come to admire a variety of tulips and take part in amazing thematic events.

Travelers who visit the Skagit Valley in March, will also have an opportunity to admire the marvelous landscapes. In the first month of spring, the valley is covered by a huge daffodil carpet. Every year, about 250,000 tulips of different varieties are planted in the valley during the festival. For the convenience of guests, all beds have explanatory signs.
