Another mansion - the Lubomirski Palace - is an 18th-century masterpiece of baroque architecture. It is notable for the fact that such famous personalities as Lesya Ukrainka, Ivan Franko, Ethel Voynich once walked through its halls. Here you can find several cultural institutions where exhibitions and other interesting events are organized. Built in 1760 according to the design of Jan de Witte, the building was supposed to meet two requirements - to be both “light” and “grand”.
A unique monument for fans of sculptural art and atmospheric places is the Lychakiv Cemetery famous for its beautiful tombstones and crypts. Among famous people who are buried here and whose graves can be found is Ivan Franko. The territory of the cemetery is divided into several memorial zones: for example, the memorials of the Galician Army and "Lviv Eagles", "The Hill of Rebels of 1863", "The Field of Mars" (the monument to war victims). The city has several interesting monuments to prominent figures. For example, monuments to Leopold von Sacher-Masoch, kerosene lamp inventors, Ivan Pidkova.
To get acquainted with the multifaceted local culture, there is nothing better than a visit to one of the museums - the Museum of Folk Architecture and Life “Shevchenkovsky Guy” or the Museum of Ethnography and Art Crafts. The first cultural institution is an open-air complex with a rural estate, a stable, and a church. It introduces visitors to other regions of Ukraine - Zakarpattia, Podilsk, Boikivshchina. Exhibits of the Museum of Ethnography are traditional interior items, furniture, jewelry, tableware, and all that ancestors of local people used in the past.
