In the heart of the resort is a unique landmark of world significance - the Big Buddha statue. The unique statue created in 1977 was paid by the wealthiest Pattaya residents. It was decided to erect the 15-meter-high monument on top of the hill. Today, to reach the Buddha you need to overcome 120 steps. Near the statue of Buddha is the city's most popular observation deck.
The most splendid architectural monument in Pattaya is Sanctuary of Truth, the construction of which began in 1985. Despite the fact that its construction continues to this day, the temple is officially considered unfinished. This does not prevent it from being a popular tourist attraction. Rare woods, as well as beautiful finishing materials, are used in its building. The carved facade of the temple with its many towers and graceful statues is just mesmerizing.
Nature enthusiasts should definitely visit the Nong Nooch Tropical Botanical Garden founded in the city in 1980. It is the largest park of its kind in the country. In the first years after its opening, this exotic corner of nature was daily visited by more than 2,000 people. Now the botanical garden is attractive with a variety of exotic plants presented on its territory. Every year beautiful green labyrinths and other interesting landscape decorations are formed in the park.
