Before buying local spices, think twice. The fact is, there is a chance to bring home not only spices but also pests that will easily settle in cereals and penetrate into any closed cabinets. But you can absolutely safely buy jams from the local fruits. Thanks to the culinary talents of the local hostesses, guava, mango, passion fruit, and pineapple acquire a great taste and a long shelf life. For those, who like spicy food, sauces are a good choice. Most of them are cooked in the best traditions of well-known Asian cuisine so that unprepared people will almost instantly get tears.
