The historic Mezgerturm, also known as the Butcher's Tower, is an unusual historical symbol. It is remains of the medieval defensive structures. The tower was built in 1345. Its height is 36 meters. It has become a world-famous landmark due to a serious inclination. In the Middle Ages, the tower was built on a wetland, so over time, it began to lean. Now the level of its slope is only slightly lower than the famous leaning Tower of Pisa.
The Falling House is the city's another unusual falling structure. This beautiful half-timbered house is located in the Old Town. It was built in the 14th century. Over the years of its existence, the external design practically did not change. It's a miracle the old building managed to survive during numerous fires and devastating wars. Many interesting legends are connected with the old building. In 1995, a small hotel was opened in it.
Guests of Ulm should definitely visit the Bread Museum, opened in 1955. The museum occupies a beautiful historic building. Once, there was a barn in it. Nowadays, around 18000 thematic exhibits have been collected there. You can see the tools used by German cultivators and millers hundreds of years ago. The historical exposition is supplemented with nice interactive exhibits. During a tour, visitors are offered to learn on their own how to make flour.
