Centara Announces 3 Hotels in Myanmar

The leading hotel company in Thailand, Centara Hotels & Resorts, is not scared by the coronavirus pandemic and falling revenues. The famous hotelier is planning to add three new hotels in Myanmar to its portfolio. For this purpose, the company has already concluded management agreements with SL International Construction.

The names and locations of the new hotels are already not a secret. These are going to be two new hotels in Hpa-An, namely, Hpa-An Hilltop Resort & Spa and Centra by Centara Hotel Thiri Hpa-An, and one hotel in Mandalay (Centara Hotel Mandalay). These are not the first Myanmar hotels in the pipeline of the Thai hospitality company. Centara plans to open as many as nine hotels in this country together with SL International Construction.

Centrala also revealed some information about the soon-to-open properties. As it was mentioned above, two new hotels are located in Hpa-An. This Myanmar city is mostly famous for its karst mountains, but tourists also praise its beautiful nature with blue lakes and green fields. Besides natural treasures, this city has some notable attractions like pagodas and Buddha statues in the Saddan Cave. Centra by Centara Hotel Thiri Hpa-An is set to open next year. This hotel has a magnificent location on one of the globally acclaimed karst mountains of Hpa-An. Once open, the hotel will feature two restaurants, a fitness center, an outdoor swimming pool, and facilities for business guests.

Hpa-An Hilltop Resort & Spa will open one year later, in 2022. It will be located only 20 minutes away from the first hotel in Hpa-An. This hotel will offer 60 guestrooms, large private bungalows, a kid’s club, two restaurants, a spa, a fitness center with a swimming pool, and even an entertainment center for guests. The hotel’s infrastructure will have an unusual element – the Skydeck observation area with a glass floor that offers a striking 360-degree panoramic view of the city.

Finally, the hotel in Mandalay will open in 2024. It will be a part of a mixed-use building. Besides the hotel, the complex will include a shopping mall, casino, and office space. The hotel will have 200 guestrooms, three restaurants, a swimming pool, and more. Besides the six hotels in Myanmar signed earlier this year, Centara is planning to open two hotels in Vietnam and one hotel in Oman. The new additions increase the company’s portfolio to 81 hotels with a total of 17,154 rooms.
