Starhotels, the Italian hospitality company specializing mostly in upscale accommodations, has opened a hotel in the center of Milan. This is the first ecological hotel of the company. The hotel is marked as E.c.h.o. – this means it has high level of following modern standards of ecology.
The new hotel in Milan has 143 guestrooms and each of them is developed specially to make the negative impact on environment as minimal as possible. All public areas are full of natural light thanks to terraces and large windows that help to save on electricity. All materials, furnishings and even fabrics used in guestrooms fit strictest environmental standards. All beds are made of recycled materials, taps in bathrooms have reduced water consumption, and all lightning sources are energy savvy.
The hotel’s restaurant, Orto, serves local cuisine with lots of seasoned dishes. The restaurant’s large ample windows get light at any time of the day. Two walls with backlit murals create the atmosphere of sunrise, noon, and sunset. Other facilities of the restaurant include a fitness room and 5 big meeting rooms that can accommodate from 30 to 80 people.
The location of the new hotel is also very beneficial – just 5 minutes away from the center of the city and not far away from Central Railway Station.
