To talk about amazing natural features, it is certainly worth mentioning the west lake Ho Tay , the largest lake in the city. On its shore there are several noteworthy temples and palaces, and world-class hotels. That is why this area is particularly popular among tourists.
One of the oldest and the most interesting sights of Hanoi is the one pillar pagoda Chua Mot Cot . According to the historical records, it was built in the 6th century and got its name - Quoc Hai, which corresponds to English “Reason of the state". With the initial location the pagoda was moved to the shore of the west lake. The last large-scale reconstruction of the pagoda was in 1815.
Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is a symbolic place, which the indigenous inhabitants really respect. The entrance to the mausoleum, where the body of the famous President lies, is free. Many tourists tend to visit the mausoleum in the evening when it is decorated with artful highlighting. Near the attraction there is the Ba Dinh square, a permanent venue for various sports events and an ideal place for hiking.
Among the wonderful cultural institutions of Ho Chi Minh you should definitely pay attention to the Vietnamese Women's Museum . For many years, this unique cultural centre has been unjustly overlooked by tourists. But in 2012, it broke attendance records unexpectedly and got the first place among the most popular museums of the city. Founded in 1987, the Museum was dedicated to the role of local women in the society of Vietnam. Currently, the Museum houses more than 25,000 exhibits, including beautiful jewellery and national costumes, household items and crafts.
