Some roads in Slovenia are toll ones, so, in order to use them, motorists need to buy a vignette. The minimum cost of the vignette is approximately US$20 (valid for a week). It is possible to buy a vignette with different validity periods. The presence of the sticker is strictly controlled, and the penalty for driving on toll roads without the vignette ranges from US$440 to 1000.
