If you have not dived before, but want to learn all the subtleties of diving, then you can come to any of the capital's diving clubs, undergo training and get an international certificate which gives the opportunity to dive anywhere in the world. There you can also rent a boat and go to any of the interesting sets. If desired, you can learn not only scuba diving but also the running of a sailing ship – classes are held in the capital's harbour. If you are already an experienced yachtsman, you can rent a yacht and go swimming in the archipelago. Those who can’t live without extreme sports can join the local windsurfers and surfers in the pursuit of the waves. There are several windy places on the island where you can always find strong waves.
If you just want to sunbathe and swim in the clear water, then go to Josiah's Bay. You can also visit a beautiful and deserted smuggler's Cove or Long Bay Beach quite popular among locals. There is also a secluded Brewers Bay or incredibly picturesque Cane Garden Bay, which was chosen by surfers. If you do not want to look for a suitable place for a long time, you can go to the city Nanny Cay near the pier of Road Town. There is rental equipment, beach football and volleyball fields which are never empty. There is only one disadvantage of this place- there are usually quite a lot of tourists. Romantic people and those who are looking for a private place should go to the nearby Anegada Island, which is famous for its picturesque sandy beaches and hundreds of sunken pirate ships.
