Another 'feature' of the island - organization of weddings, sometimes followed by a honeymoon. Resorts may organize both symbolic and official marriage ceremonies. In the former case, documents are not required at all; for latter case you need a month of preparations before the trip or your tour operator to submit the documents, arranging a wedding in Mauritius.
However, in general the resort is mostly appreciated by European and American tourists for the unique conditions for fishing in the open sea. Some tourists come here especially with only one goal - to go fishing and bring significant trophies. Some fishermen found true record instances of blue and black marlin, fish, hammerhead sharks, tuna, bonitosa, dorado, wahoo and barracuda. Fishing boats can be hired in most hotels, or can be arranged for joint fishing with one of the local fishermen. Mauritius regularly hosts competitions for deep-sea fishing, in particular the prestigious "Marlin World Cup", held annually in December. The best time for fishing - September to April, the worst - in June and July. Best fishing in Mauritius occurs in waters near Riviere Noire, Le Morne, Flic-en-Flac Beach, Trou aux Biches and Grand Baie.
