In addition to mineral springs, the resort is famous for its historical monuments. In the picturesque hilly terrain, is located the Monastery of Saint Potapia. To climb to it, you need to overcome the staircase, which has 144 steps. This monastery has been visited by pilgrims from all over the world for hundreds of years. For them climbing a steep mountain staircase is a kind of purification ritual. The monastery was founded in a symbolic place. If you believe the legend, at the top of the hill there is a cave in which Saint Potapia lived. Currently, there are about 40 nuns in the convent. This monastery is open to visitors and ordinary tourists.
The most lively place of the resort is the embankment, along which the most popular hotels, restaurants and entertainment are concentrated. At the end of this promenade is a quiet picturesque park. It is located on a small hill, so from some parts of the park opens an excellent panoramic view of the city. There are several quiet wild beaches here, and also, interesting natural attractions can be seen.
In the park, there is an incredibly beautiful artificial waterfall. It looks so natural that it is hard for uninitiated tourists to believe in its man-made origins. In the midst of the tourist season, near the waterfall, there are several beautiful cafes.
