Legendary Hofburg Castle located in Innsbruck is a major attraction of the region. For many years, it has been the main residence of local rulers. Daily excursions for tourists show the most beautiful halls of the castle. Speaking of outstanding sights of Innsbruck, it’s certainly worth to mention the fascinating Ambras palace. Built during the second half of the 16th century, it was the residence of King Ferdinand II.
The palace is of great interest from an architectural point of view; it is made in the best traditions of Renaissance style and is home to the large-scale art gallery. Every year, the palace hosts Early Music Festival and other interesting cultural events. There is the lovely medieval fortress in Kufstein; modern travelers known it as the Emperor’s Tower. The fortress was built in the early 16th century by order of the Emperor Maximilian. It is located in very beautiful natural surroundings.
