If you are tired of all bad news in 2020 and want to pamper yourself, gourmet food might be the best option. Foodies have a hard time today because of the limitations caused by the coronavirus. Festivals and other events dedicated to food have become so rare these days, and this fact makes the coming food festival in Brussels even more precious. “Eat! BRUSSELS drink! BORDEAUX presents Dinners” will take place in the Belgian capital from November 18 to 28. Book a hotel in Brussels and prepare for the feast!
The festival will last 10 days, during which 10 different teams will offer 10 menus. Each day, a new team of chefs will offer a unique menu inspired by different cuisines of the world. Brussels is a famed gastronomic capital, and this new food festival is another proof of this. Naturally, this year’s festival will have some amendments because of the health crisis. To make sure that everyone is safe, the organizers decided to change the venue of the event to the Gare Maritime at Tour & Taxis.
The festival’s formula has been changed too. This time, there will be 10 different menus each offered on a certain day. There is one 100% Brussels-based team for each day. This team consists of several professionals such as three chefs, a cheesemaker, a brewer, a pastry chef, and a barman. Visit.brussels, who has been organizing this event for the last 7 years, had to make these necessary changes.
However, food is not the only centerpiece of the festival as its full name is “Eat! BRUSSELS drink! BORDEAUX”. Each menu will include a selection of Bordeaux wines presented by Les Vins de Bordeaux. There will be four wines to choose from red, dry white, sweet white, and cremant wine. Carefully selected by two local sommeliers, the wine varieties presented at the festival will be available for purchase in Belgian supermarkets and wine shops. The dinners will include an aperitif (Brussels beer, a cocktail, or mocktail), two starters, the main course dish, a cheese platter, four glasses of Bordeaux wine, a dessert, and water. The price is 75 euro per person.
If you want to attend this event, you will need to book not only a hotel in Brussels but also a dinner. Due to safety and hygiene standards, a limited number of guests will be allowed to visit the venue at a time. The festival will obtain the Brussels Health Safety Label so it has to respect the health measures developed by the government. The dinner reservations open on 19 October 2020 on the website of the festival.
