GLH, the company which is the London subsidiary of GuocoLeisure Group, has officially launched its new hotel brand Clermont. This is a luxury brand that will fit both hotels and private residences. It has been also revealed that GuocoLeisure Group will invest a tremendous sum of US$2.5 billion into opening of first hotels under the new brand. These will be hotels in London, Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), and Singapore.
The London hotel is a converted property. Currently known as Royal Horseguards, the 281-guestroom hotel will be named Clermont London. The beautiful building along the River Thames needs to pass an extensive renovation before reopening next year. The next hotel, Clermont Singapore, will open later in 2016. The hotel will be a part of Tanjong Pagar Centre a large mixed use development that will provide space to the hotel, offices, residential apartments, boutiques and event entertainment facilities. By the way, the new complex will surely draw attention as the tower of Tanjong Pagar Centre will also be the tallest building in Singapore. The third hotel, Clermont Kuala Lumpur, will also open in 2016. Located in Damansara City, the hotel will be a part of another mixed use complex that will include not only the hotel, but also two office towers, two towers with residential apartments and a mall. New Clermont hotels in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur will also have residential apartments on site the Singapore hotel will have approximately 200 of them, and the Kuala Lumpur one will have 370 residential apartments. The hotel at Damansara City will have such facilities as Olympic-length swimming pool, its own aqua gymnasium, private dining rooms and numerous function rooms.
According to GLH, they try to make Clermont a new standard of luxury, and do not hurry to expand their network as the company wants each Clermont hotel to be unique and deliver true luxury to their guests.
