Hilton Brings Two More Hotels to Portugal

News Hilton expands its presence in Portugal by opening two more hotels under the Curio Collection by Hilton brand. These will be a hotel in Lisbon and one more hotel in Porto. At the moment, there are already three Hilton hotels operating in the country. These are the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel Lisbon Fontana Park, Conrad hotel in Algavre, and Hilton Vilamoura As Cascatas Golf Resort & Spa.

The new hotels will be upscale properties that will be suitable for both business and leisure guests. The Emerald House Lisbon, Hilton’s new hotel in the capital of Portugal, will open in summer 2020. The other hotel will open earlier – in December 2019. This will be the Boeira Garden Hotel Porto Gaia. Despite the early opening at the end of this year, the hotel will be fully operational only in spring 2020.

The opening of two new hotels in Portugal is a part of the global strategy of the hotelier that includes the expansion on key European markets. Hilton further sticks to its multi-brand strategy that offers a range of different options to investors, property owners, and guests. With different hospitality options in several segments, the hotelier can provide its clientele with customized experience and pricing. Curio Collection hotels are carefully selected properties, each of which has its own unique character and style. Hilton carefully selects each property before it can join the brand. There are Curio hotels in London, Paris, Rome, and other key destinations around the world. The total number of hotels in the Curio portfolio is 80 properties, 17 of which are located in Europe. 19 hotels are under development.

The choice in favor of Portugal is not random. The country’s popularity as a tourist destination has been skyrocketing in recent years. In 2018, Portugal welcomed 7.5% more or almost three million foreign guests. The Emerald House hotel in Lisbon will be comfortably situated in the heart of the capital not far from the city’s key attractions. Besides excellent sightseeing options, close proximity to Chiado and Baixa districts opens up rich prospects for shopping, fine dining, and entertainment. The new hotel will have only 67 rooms.

The Boeira Garden Hotel Porto Gaia will offer everything that travelers expect from a legendary winemaking region. Surrounded by a three-hectare-large old garden and close to one of the oldest wineries in Porto, the fully renovated hotel will offer a fitness center, spa, meeting rooms, business center, lounge area, a special area for weddings and other events, and several restaurants and bars. In December 2019, the first 44 rooms are available for booking, and further 80 rooms are to be added in spring 2020.
