Saudi Arabia to Get 30,000 New Hotel Rooms
Hospitality industry of Saudi Arabia is developing at a quick pace, and the country is expected to get as many as nearly 30,000 hotel rooms this year. According to the study “Saudi Arabia Hotel Construction Overview”, which was prepared for the Hotel Show Saudi Arabia 2017, in 2017 68 new hotels with the total of 29,033 rooms are set to open in the country.
This year, some big players enter the market of the kingdom. These are Assila Hotel Rocco Forte (opens in Q1), Nobu Hotel in Riyadh (opens in Q2), Time Qurayyat Hotel (opens in Q2), Swiss-Belhotel Al Khobar (opens in Q4), and Abraj Kudai Towers (opens in Q4). The latter is expected to become the biggest hotel in the world. When the towers operate at full power, there will be 10,000 hotel rooms. The opening of such a large hotel has become a necessity in order to provide shelter for all pilgrims who arrive in Makkah.
Experts call 2017 an exciting year for the hospitality industry of the kingdom. Many new brands, such as Rocco Forte Hotels and Nobu Hospitality, come to the market and see much potential in the tourism of Saudi Arabia. Moreover, the luxurious Rocco Forte Assila Hotel in Jeddah has become the only hotel in the Middle East by the group. The newly opened hotel has 147 rooms and 63 suites, and 94 residential fully serviced apartments are to open in the nearest future. By the way, these are going to be the first full-service residential apartments in the country.
The Hotel Show Saudi Arabia will take place on April 4-6 in Jeddah. This is the anniversary annual event, as in 2017 the show will celebrate its fifth edition.
