Raffles Hotels & Resorts, hotel company working mostly in luxury segment, announced new agreement with famous Chinese developer Jiangsu Golden Land. Together the companies will open a luxury hotel in ancient Chinese city of Suzhou that is often called “Venice of the Orient”.
Raffles Suzhou is set to open in 2020. The hotel will enjoy fantastic location in the center of the city. The 150 guestroom hotel will occupy a part of high-rise Keyne International Suzhou tower that is a part of the Suzhou New District (SND) Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone. This is an industrial zone mainly focused on high-tech industries, science and research. Many companies from Fortune 500 like Canon, Logitech and Motorola already call the SND home. The zone is expected to become a big center of electronic equipment manufacturing, software and IT development.
Naturally, such status and rapid development attract many travelers to the city, creating business opportunities for hotel companies. The new Raffles hotel will offer various options for both business and leisure travelers. Here guests will find five food and beverage venues, signature Long Bar and Writer’s Bar, over 1,400 square meters of meeting and event space, Raffles Spa and special Raffles Residences for those guests who need accommodation for long stay.
Also known as the “Venice of the Orient” due to its picturesque network of canals, Suzhou is also one of oldest cities in China. Founded more than 2500 years ago, the city is home to such sights as Zhouzhuang Water Town, Zhuozheng Garden, and Hanshan Temple.
