European Hoteliers Benefit from Sporting Events

Major UK markets are expected to post high results due to the Rugby Games that will take place in the country in September and October. As this year the games are to be held during the third and fourth quarters, the year to year results for 2016 will be automatically negative. Hotels in Berlin, Germany, benefit from the UEFA Champions Final next month. The event has already made significant impact on hotel bookings with TRevPAR growth (total revenue per available room) estimating 16.1%.

2015 will be definitely a good year for hotels in the United Arab Emirates and Germany. The growth of GOPPAR (gross operating profit per available room) in key markets of the UAE, Dubai and Abu Dhabi, is expected to reach 30.4% and 82.6% respectively. Such popular German destinations as Munich, Berlin and Frankfurt posted growth of GOPPAR of 9.2%, 16.3% and 10.4% respectively. The overall growth of German market is expected to reach 14.4%.
